Solo Sailing at Marconi
Marconi Sailing Club has a small but active Solo sailing fleet enjoying a full sailing programme throughout the sailing season. The standard varies so whatever your ability you should get some good racing. We also have some social events which are enjoyed by the solo sailors and their families. The club is ideal for the Solo as the tidal estuary gives a constantly changing set of conditions whilst not being as exposed as the open sea.
The sailing comprises of a spring, summer and autumn points series which are sailed on Sundays where the Solos mix in with other dinghies. The Wednesday evening handicap races are also popular.
During the Winter months a range of social events take place which supplement the general club events. These include pub meals and ten pin bowling. During the Summer a number of barbecues are held after the sailing on Sundays (weather permitting) and these are very much family occasions.
