Directions from M25 Junction 29

To reach junction 29 on the M25 from the south (Kent, Sussex etc) you will need to cross the River Thames at the Dartford Crossing. If you are towing a boat, make sure you don’t go through an auto-toll (signed “cars only”). Junction 29 is about 10 minutes driving anti-clockwise from the river crossing

Leave the M25 at junction 29 signposted Southend A127. Use the outside lane of the exit road, negotiate the roundabout and join the A127 towards Southend. The A127 is a two lane dual carriageway road, continue for 22 kms, and watch for signs Chelmsford A130. Leave the A127 and follow signs to the A130 towards Chelmsford. Once on the road this will then take you down a large dual carridgeway. Come off at the first exit sign posted South Woodham Ferrers.

Watch for and follow signs at a large roundabout for South Woodham Ferrers, Maldon, Burnham-on-Crouch. Continue to follow these signs also signs for Fambridge and Latchingdon.

At the next roundabout take the second exit (straight on), the following roundabout the second exit, the next roundabout the first exit, continue to follow signs for Burnham-on-Crouch, Fambridge and Latchingdon.

In Latchingdon you will come to a fork. Take the left fork (signposted Bradwell / Maylandsea) and follow the road for about 10 minutes until you reach the village of Steeple. Go through the village and just outside it, you will find a small turn on the left called Stansgate Road. Take this left turn and follow the lane all the way to its end where you will find Marconi Sailing Club.

Directions from M25 Junction 28

Coming clockwise around the M25 leave at junction 28 A12. Follow the signs to Chelmsford / Harwich. Leave the A12 at the Maldon junction and follow signs to Maldon. Go through the village of Danbury until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit (straight over) signposted Burnham / Latchingdon. Follow a winding road until you reach a T-junction – at which turn right, still following signs to Burnham. Follow the road to a mini-roundabout and turn left, still following the signs to Burnham / Latchingdon.

Please note: the lane to the club is single track with few passing places. Please drive very slowly up and down the lane, especially when towing a boat.
