The East Coast Piers Race is a major charity event raising funds to support “The Cirdan Trust” to further support their important work with socially or physically disadvantaged children. The race is based at Marconi Sailing Club on the River Blackwater in Essex and goes all the way up the East Coast to Walton and back.
Typically the ECPR is held over a weekend with camping available Friday to Monday with inshore racing on Saturday and the long distance courses on Sunday. There are two course options available:
- 27 mile round trip to Colne Point and back – dinghies and catamarans
- the full ECPR which is 50 miles to Walton Pier and back – catamarans only
The event is open to catamarans and fast dinghies.
