The 2019 British Keelboat League (BKL) is now underway and the winners from the first two legs Ulswater YC and Haversham SC have won through to the final that will be held in September at Queen Mary SC. See the results here.
The UK’s winning teams from last year sailed well in the Sailing Champions League Qualifiers in Palma and Porto Cervo and you can read more about those events here.
Marconi’s own Keelboat champions from 2018, who won their crown on the very last race of our Keelboat event at Queen Mary last Autumn, will represent the club in the BKL in two weeks time at the Royal Southern Yacht Club. 22-23 June.
This years BKL is being sailed in a fleet of brand new RS21 keelboats and we’re sure our team of David Nickalls, Daniel Nickalls, Jack Collis and Jack Wardell will soon get to grips with these Asymmetric speed machines given their skiff experience and team work developed in J80’s and our very own SB20.
The BKL event, which comprises of as many 15 minute races that can be packed in over a weekend, is streamed live on facebook, so check out our teams progress as it happens.
Go Marconi!
