Interested in having a go at club dinghy/cat racing?
Not quite sure what’s involved?
Club Racing is a great way to build your sailing skills, meet other sailors and have an enjoyable time on the water – with the added benefit of support boats being on hand.
Our club racing scene is very friendly and there is a fleet for everyone – Cadets (18 and under), Solos, Monohull Handicap Fleet, Sprint 15s, Medium and Fast Cat Fleets.
So why not give our Come Racing Day a try?
Sunday 15th June – Come Racing
The opportunity to join in club racing with additional support for those who are new or less experienced at racing.
· 10am – Meet your fleet captains in Race Reception (at the far end of the club house
ground floor) – who will show you how to sign on/off for the race, find out the course and how the start works.
· 10:30am – Attend a short informal Briefing in Race Reception with the Race Officer.
· On the water – Receive advice and guidance (if you want it!) from other members of your fleet and the support boats, where possible.
· Following the morning race – over lunch in the club house, the Race Officer and Fleet Captains will be happy to discuss the morning race with you, answer any questions you may have and pass on some tips.
· In the afternoon – if you are feeling keen, join in the afternoon race as well! (start time varies but is usually somewhere around 1:30/2pm)
· Most importantly – look back on the days sailing over tea and cake from Tina in the Galley after racing, with your fellow sailors!
We hope you will come and give it a go! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me for further information.
