It is hoped this new road some 80 metres long and 8 metres wide made with 230 tons of crushed concrete to a depth of 250mm is also PIG PROOF ! We can all blame Danny, Colin and Murray the builders if not as they have guaranteed the…

Posted by Cheryl Cutmore Holiday booked through Sailing Holidays that provided us with a very useful and comprehensive marina guide including excellent photographs of the majority of the marinas in the whole region. An enormous thanks to Jackie and Roger Camp for organising the most exceptional Summer Cruise. What an amazing fortnight. The scenery, the sailing, the weather, the food, the drink, the company. And of course an extra large portion of laughter. I can’t think of any way of improving it. Here is my diary style record of our two week holiday in Greece, starting in the Northern Ionian…

An interloper tried to join us for drinks at Wrabness on the MSC late Summer Cruise. Seems he wants to join the club! Roger thought putting him on the club website will improve his chances of becoming a member. He was very persistent achieving five visits to Rogers inflatable and when all the inflatables had gone he made one attempt at capsizing my rigid tender. Pete Clayton More to follow on the Late Summer Cruise

If you could it turned out to be much better to lock in on Friday morning as there were only three of us, Serapin 2, Cabanna and ourselves Last Dream, the basin was relatively quiet, we got to moor alongside and the sun shone as we made our intrepid way to Tesco by bus pass. By Saturday when the other eleven boats eventually found their way into the lock, in some cases such as Southern Hey waiting around outside for nearly an hour to do so, there was persistent drizzle. They didn’t seem bothered that we had been getting wet…

Club cruise to Brightlingsea A total of 11 boats made up the fleet, including some first timers, as well as people with new yachts. Well, new to them at least! Peter & Sue (Last Dream), Roy & Margaret (Serupin II), & Derek & Hillary (C’Est Moi), made the journey the previous day, with Derek & Hillary anchoring at Pyefleet for the night. For those sailing on the Saturday morning, it dawned grey & miserable, with some drizzle to finish things! We also had the wind on the nose nearly all the way, so it was a case for the “iron…
