The Handicap sailing Fleet at Marconi Sailing Club is very diverse both in terms of the types of classes sailed and the range of sailing activities our members enjoy.
Larks, Laser’s, Wayfarer’s and the latest skiffs including RS600’s and RS800’s are just some of the classes sailed at Marconi, not to mention Toppers and Picos which are often sailed by our younger members.
There are two Handicap Class races each Sunday (March to October) with a Wednesday night Pursuit Race during the summer months. Many other sailors prefer to go day sailing, take a picnic or just to explore the local waters – especially during the week when the river is a little quieter!
Our dinghy cruising section is becoming more and more popular, they meet on the first Saturday of every month throughout the year and launch to sail to a chosen destination. This is usually a pub for lunch, they then return in the afternoon.
