What?
It’s quiz time!
In the bleak Midwinter it would be good to get together, remember all those heady summer days!? MSC are having a social quiz night in Maldon for everyone to meet up, keep those grey cells active and to raise money for the RNLI!!!!
Ably guided by the brilliant Tony and Sally Ferguson, renowned for their Cadet Week Quiz’s, this will be a night of testing trivia and jovial festivities.
When?
Saturday 13th January 7 for 7.30
Where?
Maldon Little Ship Club at the Hythe Quay Maldon.
Why?
To raise money for the RNLI by supporting the Marconi rowing gig at the RNLI Rowing Race.
We’ve already raised a lot through many members generosity, but are aiming to be the Rowing Gig that raises the most this year!
How?
Book your table fast to guarantee your place, as we the club can only accommodate 8 tables of 8 people. Contact Sandra Clayton at sandravclayton@btinternet.com or via phone: 01621 772841/07709055124.
It’s £5 per head with all proceeds going to the RNLI and of course a raffle!
Bring your own wine and nibbles, cask beer and bottles can be bought from their well-stocked bar.
The Marconi Sailing Club have rowed in the RNLI Rowing Race since 1979, when Mike Turner and Pete Clayton first rowed and raised money for the RNLI. There have been many memorable fancy dress costumes particularly during the years when the Ball family and more recently the Claytons and Ashes took part. This is our second year with the Gig Elettra and we are hoping to encourage the Gigs to raise more money!
The race is now in its 41st year and still going strong. This year due to tides and lack of light it has shifted from its traditional Christmas/New Year slot and will be held on Saturday 20th January.
