If you’re looking for a place to try out the sport of sailing look no further!
Marconi Sailing Club is an East Coast gem! We benefit from a large site, excellent facilities and most importantly of all – a beautiful expanse of water to sail on at any state of the tide.
We have an active membership across all types of sailing: cruisers, dinghies, catamarans, windsurfers, cruises, racing and cadet events. We also host visiting fleets and have camping and social events.
We want all members to be able to make the most of everything the club has to offer. You can find out membership prices and application forms on this website. If you want to come and have a look around then please feel free, here is how to find us.
Every year we’re adding more activities to our annual sailing programme to help our members old and new become more confident. Whether you’re an experienced sailor and want to practice your race starts or you need to just need to build on the basics we’ll have an activity for you. Here’s a quick overview of the 2014 events planned.
If you need any more information or have any questions then please email us email@example.com
On specified Friday evenings during the summer – everyone is invited to come along for a relaxed and social evening of sailing as follows:
- Pre-meet around 6:30pm. Support boat cover will be provided on the water from 7pm to 8:15pm
- General coaching available for those who would like to hone their skills
- Club dinghies will be available for those who would like to give them a try
- Volunteer helms available for those who would like to come along and crew
- The galley will be open for evening meals after sailing – hopefully the bar will be too!
And all with the tide in!
Sail Training Days are scheduled throughout the season to provide training to either young members up to age 18 or for adult members that are new to sailing or would like to gain confidence.
Each session starts at 10:30am in wet gear, ready to sail.
Racing is a great way to improve your sailing and is also very sociable! If you have not done much racing but would like to have a go – come along on Come Racing Sundays. A member of your fleet will be on hand to help you with the starts, courses, signing on/off etc. The Race Officer will give a short briefing before the race and the support boats will give a bit of help & advice on the water. All members welcome.
Our annual Cadet Week provides fun sail training for young club members up to the age of 18. We also provide sail training for adults who are new to sailing too!
The week includes sailing tuition, a long distance race with a picnic, water games, social events, a grand prize giving and a Cadet Regatta on the final Saturday.
The week is wholly run by volunteers – and all of our members are very welcome to join in.
If you want to camp during Cadet Week – please watch Navigans (monthly members newsletter) to register for camping early in the year – places fill up very quickly so return your form immediately to ensure you get a camping place.
A separate registration for Cadet Week is usually issued around April/May. Early registration is appreciated.
