Cadet Fleet Captain's Page
Your Cadet Fleet Captain for 2007/2008 is Rorie Ash.
I am pleased to have been elected as your fleet captain for 2008. I have some new ideas for cadets and plan to continue things that have worked well in the past. I am always open to new ideas from cadets themselves.
I would like to see more cadets down at the club throughout the year to practice and improve upon skills learnt at cadet week. Throughout the year there are the small cadet races on Sundays as well as the ‘easier’ pursuit races on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. If you don’t feel confident enough to race then there are also the training days where you can gain confidence and skill on the water, as well as having fun.
Lack of a boat is no longer an excuse as we now have a cadet Laser Pico and Laser. The Pico can be used with/without a jib and is therefore suitable to be sailed solo or with a crew. The Laser has three differently sized sails for varying skill levels and weather conditions. Instructions for using the cadet boats can be found on the cadet notice board.
I will post more current cadet information; like details of events and reports, on the notice board in the clubhouse and in Navigans.
