YOU ARE REMINDED THAT YOU HAVE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR VESSEL AND CREWMEMBERS SAFETY WHEN PARTAKING IN ANY EVENT LISTED ON THIS WEBSITE.

Skippers of all vessels are responsible for themselves, their crew and their vessels whether afloat or ashore, and nothing in this website or anywhere else, reduces this responsibility..

It is for the skipper to decide whether it is fit to sail in the conditions in which the boat will find herself. By going to sea, the skipper confirms that the boat is fit for those conditions and her crew is competent to sail in them.

Nothing done by the organisers or the Marconi Sailing Club can reduce the responsibility of the skipper and crew nor will it make the organisers of any event responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may have occurred, as a result of the boat taking part in the event. The organisers encompass everyone, organising or helping to run the event, and includes all contributors to this website.

Club members should also check out the cruiser pages in the Members' Section.

The cruiser fleet has in excess of 100 boats from 18 to 44 feet, all of which are moored off the club at Stansgate in the River Blackwater.

CruiserHalf of the boats are on deep water moorings with the remainder on drying moorings. These moorings are serviced by the club with our own dedicated barge. We have an extensive cruiser park with electric power, fresh water and security lighting which enables us to offer winter storage for our members. We also have a travel hoist which is able to take boats up to 28 feet/6 tons and a mast derrick in the cruiser park.

Scrubbing posts with fresh water are located adjacent to the hard which was originally laid to service landing craft in 1945.

TahitiOn the sailing side, both domestic and joint club races are organised as well as sailing in company. The main club cruises take place during spring bank hoilday week and the first and last weeks of the school summer holidays with many weekend cruises in between. Many of our members regularly cruise to the continent with some venturing as far as the Mediterranean and New Zealand whilst others just enjoy pottering about the Blackwater estuary and its islands.

In order to keep subscriptions to a minimum, members assist with the general maintenance of the club and its general equipment. The cruiser sailing programme can be found on the club Cruising Programme 2008 page.
