Olympic gold medallist Saskia Clark joined in the fun at our 2017 Open Day held in conjunction with the RYA Push the Boat Out event.  The public poured through the gates eager to try sailing on all size of vessels including two rowing gigs. This was by far the most successful Open Day event ever held by the club.  A massive thanks to Saskia & the RYA team for coming along & inspiring so many, both young & old with a touch of gold class, & of course to the club’s sailors who made hundreds of trips out onto the water to introduce people to the sport. We had to extend sailing by an hour and a half! Finally not forgetting all those hands on deck & behind the scenes (you know who you are) that registered the guests, lent the kit, ran the hard, launched & caught the boats, poured the beer, ran the Pimms tent, bought all the food, cooked the BBQ, bounced the bouncy castle, DJ’ed and played the live music, cooked in the galley, & parked all those cars (we need a bigger field!). THANK YOU! It was smiles all around all day. In fact I’m still grinning now………
