It isn’t just the dinghy and catamaran racing fleets who have been busy this year. Our Dinghy cruising club is growing along with our yacht cruising fleet and the sailors have ventured across Europe. Marconi isn’t just a club for racing, we welcome sailors of all abilities and boat types. The keener of our windsurfing fleet will also be in action throughout the winter!
As well as racing events Marconi Sailing Club recognised a need to offer alternative activities. This season the club introduced a series of organised sail evenings dubbed “Friday Free 4 All.” This gave the opportunity for sailors who may not be able to make usual club racing or who preferred the freedom of sailing without objective to take to the water in company with the re-assurance and support of a safety boat. After sailing the majority of members retired to the galley for an evening meal. The Friday Free 4 All’s were held throughout the season, have proved immensely popular and will return again in 2015.
We hope for more fantastic weather and sailing in 2015, watch this space.
