Welcome

When you attend an open meeting here at Stansgate you're assured of a warm welcome. We host a range of open meetings each year, ranging from charity events to class national championships. For almost all events there is camping allowed on site, the bar will be open and and in most cases the galley will be serving food.

Useful Information

Registration

Please register your entry at Race Reception which is the yellow portakabin to the right of the driveway in the catamaran field. (Please note that for some larger events the registration point will be different - watch for signs!)

Camping

MSC from the airOur club calendar ( to be found here) will tell you whether camping is permitted for a particular event. CS (Camping Start) denotes the first day of camping and CF (Camping Finish) is the last day. We are limited by the local authority as to how many camping days we have each year and so can't allow camping at other times. The picture (left) shows the club from the air during camping

  • Showers and loos are open 24 hours on site during camping
  • We do not allow unauthorised bonfires on site
  • We request that children under the age of 18 years old do not consume alcohol on site other than under parents' supervision within tents / caravans
  • For most open meetings camping pitches are on a first come first served basis. For larger events you may be directed as to where to pitch camp

Food and drink

The galley (upstairs in the clubhouse) will normally be open for lunch / tea on racing days. In many cases an evening meal is available - you will normally have to book this in advance through the meeting organiser. It is advisable to order lunch at reception when you enter as this save queues at lunchtime.

The bar is open most evenings during camping and at often at lunchtime on racing days. The green and white gin pennant above the clubhouse signifies that the bar is open. Please respect normal laws about purchasing alcohol for children.

Around the site

  • Please keep below 5mph (ie walking pace). Children run and play around the site
  • Please keep dogs on a lead and never in the clubhouse
  • Be aware that, in common with all slipways washed by tides, our hard can be very slippery when wet. If you are worried about manhandling a boat down to the water please ask for help
  • Please sign our visitors book in the clubhouse
  • Results and prizes are usually presented in the clubhouse as soon as possible after the last race
  • The first aid box is located in the hallway near the public phone on the ground floor. Should you need assistance please contact reception or a club member
